As the owner of WeatherVane Software I have been in the business of providing high quality contract software for 30 years. For this entire time I've been able to work remotely. Because of the change of attitude toward remote development in general due to COVID, I am now exploring  full time remote work opportunities  as well as contracting.

I have had a wide variety of work experience, and especially like new challenges and to be able to learn new technologies. My main strengths are Windows programming at all levels, system design and ability to jump into existing projects either to help finish them or to get them back on track. I have also done full stack web design and implementation, with an emphasis on back end design.

FAQ
Q - What kind of projects have you worked on?
I have worked on low level tape backup, printer drivers, porting Mac applications to Windows, PC remote control, digital imaging and distribution systems, media security, designing an autonomous rover, a large retail website for rubber stamps, and others.
Q -What languages do you know?
I am most proficient in C++, C#, C, Javascript/typescript, and have worked in various others. I can pick up new languages as needed.
Q - Why remote?
I find I concentrate better in my own space and can be more productive, and the lack of a commute gives me more time to work. I am not adverse to on site work if it is necessary to move a project forward.
